Lenovo thinkpad X60S laptop Review

Lenovo /IBM thinkpad X60S laptop

The ThinkPad X60s is the latest incarnation of the popular ThinkPad X-series from Lenovo. This model has aversus voltage L2400.The main difference between the Core Duo X60 and X60s notebooks is that the thinkpad X60s has a low voltage processor while the X60 does not, therefore this review can still be treated as a general overview for both models.

The thinkpad x60s battery life, the all important factor. The battery dies in 2 hours and you have to find a power outlet as a lifeline to staying charged? The X60s I have comes with an extended life 8-cell battery, replacement battery for thinkpad x60s, it sticks out of the back of the notebook rather than being flushed, and weighs more than the standard 4-cell. But I’ll gladly carry the extra weight for the 5 hours and 59 minutes of battery life I get with the X60s.

    Design and Build

The lenovo thinkpad X60s has actually undergone some quite significant changes in design. Well, I say significant relative to how much a ThinkPad changes from one generation to the next. The X60s is slightly deeper than the past X41. There are now 3 USB 2.0 ports as opposed to the usual two, there’s a FireWire port and the hard drive goes from 1.8″ size to 2.5″ size.

If you are still considering what to buy laptop, the Lenovo thinkpad x60s would be a good choice.

Thinkpad T40 Laptop Review

Thinkpad T40 laptop is hot from early April 2003,why? The lenovo/ibm thinkpad t40′s quality decide its popularity.ThinkPad T40 is IBM’s best one-bay notebook yet, multiple flavors of wireless readiness, and dual pointing devices in a slim notebook. The T40 boasts all the same connections as the T30, including legacy parallel and PS/2 ports (but no FireWire port). It has the built-in antennas to speak three different wireless protocols: 802.11b and 802.11a Wi-Fi standards along with Bluetooth

Excellent thinkpad t40 battery life usually is near the top of any list of must-have laptop features, with a good warranty a close second. My previous laptop had been a Gateway Solo 2500 which gave me about 3 hours of battery life when I first purchased it.

All T40 models have dual USB 2.0 ports, S-video out, dual PCMCIA ports, and a parallel port. I would have loved to have seen FireWire standard on this notebook. The other drawback to the T40 is that only one of the memory slots is user-accessible. So you might want to max out the base RAM when ordering.

The T40 laptop battery now comes mounted on the rear, and some connections have moved to the sides. For instance, the monitor connection has been displaced to the right side, a location that looks somewhat odd but should not inconvenience too many users. Most parts are easy to access.

The ThinkPad T40 notebooks are a new benchmark of computing performance, battery life and mobility. In my opinion, the thinkpad t40 laptop is best choice for many people.
